Hotelier Kanti Patel has acquired the Castillo Real Hotel located at 530 A1A Beach Blvd in St. Augustine Beach, but he has not yet revealed the brand that will be associated with it. The property was previously part of Choice Hotels before becoming unbranded.
Patel purchased the hotel for $11.5 million from MSB Hotels III LLC, who had owned it since 2016 when they bought it for $10.25 million.
According to reports from Miami Business Journal, Patel is a prominent figure in the St. Augustine area and owns several other hotels through his company Vista Hospitality, including the recently developed Renaissance St. Augustine Historic Downtown Hotel and 12 others in both St.Augustine and Jacksonville.
This acquisition marks another addition to Vista Hospitality’s growing portfolio of successful hotels in Florida’s popular tourist destinations.
