### Virgin Galactic Begins Assembly of First Delta SpaceShip in Mesa

Virgin Galactic is set to commence assembly of its first Delta SpaceShip this month at its new manufacturing facility in East Valley. The company, which completed the buildout of its Mesa facility last summer, anticipates launching private astronaut flights by fall 2026.

Virgin Galactic operates out of two hangars at the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, within Gateway Executive Park. The company’s presence spans more than 140,000 square feet, accommodating hundreds of engineering and manufacturing employees.

The new Delta Class SpaceShips are designed to support up to eight space missions per month—offering 12 times the monthly capacity of Virgin Galactic’s original spaceship, VSS Unity.

Additionally, Virgin Galactic has announced a partnership with Redwire Corporation to develop research payload lockers for the Delta SpaceShips. This collaboration aims to enhance microgravity research capabilities for both autonomous and human-tended experiments.
