Vienna Beef to Develop Mixed-Use Project at Former Factory in Bucktown

Vienna Beef is planning a $20-million redevelopment of its former Bucktown factory space into a new corporate office, factory store and restaurant complex. The 150,000-square-foot facility will be named Vienna Beef Plaza and located at 2501 N. Damen Ave., along the riverside in Chicago. It may also include retail space for other companies in the future.

Tom McGlade, SVP at Vienna Beef stated: “We have long imagined what possibilities exist at our former factory location where Vienna was in operation since the early 1970s… We couldn’t be more excited to see Vienna Beef Plaza come to life.” The company relocated its operations from Bucktown to Bridgeport on Chicago’s South Side back in 2015; five years later their Bucktown Factory Story and Café closed down permanently.
