"Vestar Expands Retail Presence in North Phoenix with New Center Addition"

Vestar is making progress on their plans for a retail center, called Black Mountain Village, in north Phoenix. According to the Phoenix Business Journal, the center will span 160,000 square feet and include a 65,000-square-foot grocery store that has not yet been named. While the layout is still being finalized, there are also plans for an additional 65,000 square feet of retail space surrounding the main store.

The project will be situated at Deer Valley Drive and Black Mountain Boulevard in Desert Ridge area of Phoenix. Currently owned by Arizona State Land Department,the land is set to be auctioned off next summer with construction beginning in early 2026 and an anticipated opening date in the first quarter of 2028. The architect for this development is Suite-6 Architecture + Planning while no general contractor has been chosen yet.

Nearby attractions include Loop101 and Tatum Boulevard which features popular destinations such as Desert Ridge Marketplace,Mayo Clinic campus,and CityNorth.The addition of Black Mountain Village will bring even more options for shopping and dining to this bustling area.
