Velocis Starts Building 544K-SF Distribution Center

Velocis, a Dallas-based private equity fund manager, has broken ground on the Batavia Logistics Center – a 543,603-square-foot state-of-the art cross dock warehouse in the Fox Valley submarket west of Chicago. This development is part of an ongoing partnership with SCOA Real Estate Partners (SREP), a fully owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation of Americas. The project marks the fourth industrial development between Velocis and SREP in two years and KBC Advisors’ Ryan O’Leary serves as exclusive leasing agent for this endeavor.

Fred Hamm, Co Founder and Managing Partner at Velocis expressed his pride over partnering with SREP to develop such an advanced facility within Chicago’s industrial market: “We are very proud to be partnering with SREP in developing this state-of–the–art facility within the critically important Chicago industrial market.” Paul Smith – partner at Velocis and leader of their Industrial team – added that high quality facilities like these are especially sought after in Fox Valley submarket; he anticipates quick lease up for it. Other partners involved include Mike Lewis, David Seifert & Jim Yoder from Veloics itself.
