"Vella Group Secures $1.4B MXU Project Approval from DTLA Planning Commission"

Vella Group has received the green light from the Los Angeles City Planning Commission for its 670 Mesquit development, a mixed-use project with an estimated cost of $1.4 billion and spanning over 1.8 million square feet. This approval marks a significant milestone for the developer, as it comes eight years after their initial proposal to redevelop a cold storage facility in Downtown LA’s Arts District.

According to L.A. Business First, renowned architect Bjarke Ingels will be designing this project which will feature approximately 676,000 square feet of creative office space, a 270-key hotel, 800 apartment units, dining options including a grocery store and restaurants totaling up to nearly 28
