### UT Approves $145 Million Student Housing Project

Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions has been selected to develop a new student housing project on Whitis Avenue at The University of Texas at Austin.

The project, valued at approximately $145 million, will add 1,070 new beds to the campus. Demolition and site preparation began in June 2024, with the facility scheduled to open for the Fall 2027 semester.

This marks the first new residence hall constructed on campus in nearly 20 years. It will replace six existing buildings that previously housed 200 beds. The new facility will offer a mix of single and double rooms with community bathrooms, an area housing office, and a range of student amenities, including lounges, study spaces, and a university-managed conference center for events of all sizes.

The project team includes general contractor Andres and architects Clark Nexsen & Levy Dykema.

The new student housing facility is set to be ready for occupancy by Fall 2027.
