"UT and Children's Health Collaborate on $5B Dallas Pediatric Care Center"

Children’s Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center have broken ground on a new $5 billion pediatric health campus in Dallas. The project will replace the current Children’s Medical Center Dallas and will cover over 4.7 million square feet of construction, with a new pediatric hospital as its focal point.

Located at the intersection of Harry Hines Boulevard and Paul Bass Way, across from UTSW’s William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, the new campus was announced by Children’s Health and UT Southwestern in February. Construction is expected to be completed within six or seven years.

The state-of-the-art facility will feature 552 beds, two helicopter pads, a Level 1 pediatric trauma center, 90 emergency department exam rooms, 24 observation rooms,a fetal care center,and96 outpatient exam rooms.Additionally,the Plano Medical Centerwill opena395000-square-footpatienttowerin2024aspartoftheexpansionplan.

Children’s Health currently operates several medical centersand specialty care centers throughout communities aroundDallas-Fort Worth,such as Frisco,Grapevine,and Prosper.The addition of thisnewpediatriccampuswill further enhance their ability to provide top-quality healthcare services for children in need throughout North Texas.
