### U.S. General Services Administration Plans to Offload Peachtree Summit Federal Building
The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has identified Atlanta’s Peachtree Summit federal building as a candidate for “accelerated disposition.” According to the *Atlanta Business Chronicle*, the 800,000-square-foot tower currently has a vacancy rate exceeding 30%. The building houses tenants such as the GSA, the Internal Revenue Service, the Social Security Administration, and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
The Peachtree Summit building is among eight properties nationwide designated for accelerated disposition. Located in northern Downtown Atlanta near the Downtown Connector and the Civic Center MARTA station, the building had already been marked for disposition before President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
The GSA notes that this process does not necessarily mean relocating government workers. In some cases, the agency may sell a property and then lease space back for continued use. As part of the accelerated process, the GSA is now inviting interested parties to submit non-binding term sheets.
