In 2022, these NYC office properties generated approximately $2.2 billion in property tax revenue – accounting for 84% of all contributions by these 100 properties nationwide.
Chicago follows closely behind as a major contributor; 17 out of its 20 entries featured on this list contributed a total sum amounting to $344 million in property taxes for 2022 alone – making it second only after New York City’s contribution rate-wise across all regions listed hereunder . San Francisco and Washington D.C., however, managed only three entries each on this ranking system respectively .
The findings demonstrate how significantly office buildings contribute towards local and state economies while also highlighting varying tax burdens across different parts of America today .
