Transwestern Development Co. has commenced construction on a 17-acre development in Upper Kirby, featuring residential and retail components as well as two high-rise buildings. The first phase of the project includes a luxurious 36-story multifamily tower with 317 rental units atop a four-story podium, along with a 300,000-square-foot office tower. Pickard Chilton is leading the master planning efforts for this development.
Located at the former site of an Exxon research facility at 3120 Buffalo Speedway, The RO (short for River Oaks) will also feature up to eight restaurants and an additional 400 apartment units within its retail village. A condo-hotel named Birdsall will offer upscale accommodations with its mix of44 condominiums above a hotel operated by Auberge Resorts – marking their first location in Houston. Upon completion in2027,the entire project will encompass740,000 square feet under one roof.
