Bally’s Corp., the owner of Tropicana, has announced that the hotel’s towers will be demolished in October. This is to make way for a new home for Major League Baseball’s Oakland franchise, which has received approval from the league to relocate to Las Vegas. The team plans on moving into a state-of-the-art $1.5 billion stadium at this location by 2028.
The demolition will take place on nine acres of the 36-acre site, leaving 27 acres available for further development. Bally’s is currently considering various options for this remaining space, including retail and potentially a new resort adjacent to the stadium.
The iconic Tropicana hotel, which has stood tall in Las Vegas for 67 years with its two towering structures spanning 22 stories each, will soon be no more as it makes room for exciting developments ahead.
