U.K. Biotech Firm Relocates Lab and Office Space to Alexandria Center
JLL has successfully completed a sublease agreement for growing U.K.-based biotechnology company Ochre Bio at 430 E. 29th Street, located within the Alexandria Center for Life Science – New York City.
Ochre Bio, a liver research company supported by a $1-billion funding partnership with Boehringer Ingelheim, will relocate from its current space in the BioLabs incubator at 180 Varick Street. The company will now occupy 5,894 square feet of laboratory and office space on the sixth floor of the West Tower at the Alexandria Center.
The new facility will serve as Ochre Bio’s late-stage validation center and will feature the world’s largest ex-vivo machine perfusion laboratory for human donor livers. This cutting-edge space will be used to validate Ochre’s novel RNA therapies before proceeding into clinical trials.
A JLL team comprising Executive Vice President Bill Harvey, Senior Vice President John Cahill, and Associate Vice President Thomas Burrus represented both Ochre Bio and the undisclosed sublandlord in the transaction. This marks the team’s second relocation from BioLabs in recent months. In December 2024, they also facilitated the lease for Waypoint Bio, a next-generation drug discovery platform, at the Alexandria Center.
