University of Chicago and CIC have announced a partnership to create a state-of-the-art lab incubator at Hyde Park Labs. The facility will include 20,000 square feet of wet lab and office space dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs and start up companies in the life sciences sector. This new space aims to extend the impact of UChicago faculty members’ research, discoveries, and intellectual property by providing startup support.
Hyde Park Labs is being built as part of Harper Court’s second phase – a mixed use development with commercial, retail, office spaces as well as hotel accommodations. Trammell Crow Company & Beacon Capital Partners broke ground on this project earlier this year with an expected completion date in late 2024 that will create advanced infrastructure for South Side’s science & technology hub growth.
