The University of South Florida has revealed plans for a new on-campus football stadium, with groundbreaking set to take place this fall during Homecoming Week on October 14. The anticipated completion date is in time for the 2027 football season.
In December, the USF Board of Trustees approved a $340 million budget for the stadium. To help finance this project, USF secured a $200 million loan from Truist Bank at an interest rate of 6.48%. The remaining $140 million will be funded through donations and revenue generated from broadband equipment/licenses and other auxiliary accounts.
Construction management duties have been awarded to Manhattan Construction Co., H.J. Russell & Co., and DuCon LLC. Currently, USF’s football team plays their home games at Raymond James Stadium alongside the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
