**TSMC to Invest $100 Billion in Phoenix Chip Production Expansion**

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) has announced plans to invest up to $100 billion to expand its semiconductor production facilities in Phoenix, Arizona. The investment will fund the construction of three additional chip manufacturing plants, two advanced packaging centers, and a research and development center. President Donald Trump has stated this initiative is expected to create 20,000 new jobs at the facilities.

TSMC CEO C.C. Wei emphasized that this expansion aims to boost domestic production of AI chips, building on the company’s previously announced $65 billion investment in its north Phoenix fabrication site.

The expansion is anticipated to support 40,000 construction jobs over the next four years and generate tens of thousands of permanent, high-paying jobs in high-tech manufacturing and research. Additionally, the investment is projected to contribute over $200 billion in indirect economic growth within Arizona and the broader U.S. economy over the next decade.

As the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturer, TSMC produces chips for major technology companies, including Apple, Intel, and Nvidia. The company commenced mass production of chips for Apple in January.
