"Transitional Housing Residence to be Built by The Doe Fund in Brooklyn"

The Doe Fund is set to construct a new transitional housing residence at 510 Gates Avenue in Brooklyn. This development, located adjacent to The Doe Fund’s original transitional residence established in 1990, has a rich history with the organization. Despite previous attempts to acquire the property in 2007, it was not until May of 2020 that they were successful. Funding for this project comes from both public and private sources, including support from the NYC Department of Homeless Services and KeyBank’s Community Development Group.

Upon its expected completion date of 2025, this facility will offer shelter for up to 200 homeless men. These individuals will have access to The Doe Fund’s comprehensive Ready, Willing & Able program which provides paid work opportunities as well as housing and essential support services aimed at helping them rebuild their lives.
