A potential high-rise apartment building in the Edgewater neighborhood of Miami may soon replace a Midas store that has only been in operation for four years. The property, located at 2140 N.E. 2nd Ave., was purchased by Michael Lichtenstein for $7.3 million with plans to develop “Edgewood 22,” a luxurious residential complex.
Designed by Miami-based Zyscovich Architects, the project will consist of 160 units and approximately 10,000 square feet of commercial space. Amenities such as a pool and deck on the fifth floor and another smaller pool on the rooftop will be available to residents. The apartments range from cozy studios measuring at just over five hundred square feet to spacious four-bedroom units spanning over two thousand square feet.
The city’s Urban Design Review Board is set to vote on this development soon amidst an ongoing boom in residential construction within Edgewater – an area that has become increasingly popular due its close proximity to downtown Miami and easy access via bridge to Miami Beach.
