"Transforming Lloyd Center into a Vibrant Mixed-Use Neighborhood: Urban Renaissance's Plans Revealed"

The owners of Portland’s oldest mall, Lloyd Center, have announced their conceptual master plan for the site’s redevelopment. Urban Renaissance Group and KKR Real Estate Finance Trust are envisioning a mixed-use hub that will transform the 29.3-acre property into a vibrant neighborhood and regional destination.

Led by Portland design firm ZGF, the plan includes opening up the 1960s-era mall and surrounding parking lots to connect with the city’s street grid. This will improve transportation options for bikes, pedestrians, and cars in order to better integrate with surrounding communities.

Field Operations from New York City is also involved in this project as they were lead designers on Seattle Waterfront project. The initial team working on this redevelopment includes DOWL, KPFF , DKS Associates ,and Radler White Parks & Alexander LLP . Additionally, the owners of Lloyd Center have expressed interest in potentially locating a baseball stadium on site should an MLB team come to Portland.

This announcement marks an exciting step towards turning Lloyd Center into a dynamic mixed-use neighborhood that will enhance both local residents’ quality of life as well as attract visitors from across the region.
