"Transformed Herndon Offices into Classroom Space: A Versatile Solution"

JLL successfully negotiated the lease and oversaw the construction of a 40,000 square foot buildout in two tech park buildings for Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) in Herndon, VA. This project involved transforming office space into usable classrooms, offices, and testing rooms for FCPS, Virginia’s largest public school system.

The tenant representation was handled by JLL’s expert brokerage team led by managing director John Gibb. Additionally, JLL’s Project and Development Services (PDS) group managed all aspects of the project from design to occupancy under the leadership of VP Cheryl Russ.

One notable aspect of this project is its adaptive reuse approach to repurposing office space for educational use. As urban areas become more developed with limited space available for new schools or institutions, this type of transformation becomes increasingly valuable.
