Georgia-Pacific has announced its intention to revamp its renowned 51-story global headquarters and the surrounding city block, transforming it into a hub for innovation. The downtown location will feature a diverse mix of residential living options, modern office spaces, retail establishments, restaurants and a beautifully landscaped central plaza designed for communal gatherings.
The development is set to be completed by fall of 2027 and will include the following:
– Over 400 apartment units on the top floors of the tower – among some of the highest in all of Southeast
– A total area spanning over 125,000 square feet dedicated to retail shops, dining experiences and entertainment venues
– Class A office space covering an impressive area measuring at least 6000 square feet with Georgia-Pacific and Koch Inc. serving as anchor tenants.
– An expansive central plaza occupying approximately35 ,000 square feet.
– More than enough parking spots totaling over2 ,100 in addition to convenient access via MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) trains or Atlanta Streetcars.
Future plans also include multi-phase developments that may potentially incorporate new hotels along with additional residences & retail outlets.
Collaborating partners involved in this project are Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio who serve as architects; Healy Weatherholtz responsible for brokering deals related to retails spaces; Kimley-Horn handling civil engineering tasks; Studio Saint taking care interior design aspects while Brasfield & Gorrie have been assigned preconstruction duties. Transwestern has been brought on board as consultants providing property management services.
It’s worth noting that Georgia-Pacific will continue operating from within this building even after completion .
