"Transformation Plans in Motion for Cary Mall Owners"

After years of planning and a $38.4 million purchase, South Hills Mall in Cary is finally getting a much-needed makeover. The town has given the green light for developers Loden Properties and Northpond Partners to begin construction on their mixed-use project spanning 44 acres.

The ambitious project will include residential units, office space, a hotel, retail shops, and even a sports complex – if voters approve the bond referendum on November’s ballot. The development timeline is estimated at 10-15 years with construction set to start next year.

In addition to providing housing options with 1,755 units and accommodations with 350 hotel rooms, the developers are also planning for:

-935 square feet of office space
-550 square feet of retail/commercial space
-328 square feet for community recreation
and sports facilities
-235 square feet designated for research
and laboratory use

This transformation marks an exciting new chapter in the history of South Hills Mall under its new ownership. Stay tuned as this development progresses!
