MGM Resorts International and Marriott International have announced plans to transform a well-known property on the Las Vegas Strip into a W Hotel, part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. The non-gaming property, currently known as The Delano Hotel, will be converted to W Las Vegas and become part of the Mandalay Bay casino-hotel campus. Construction is set to begin later this year.
Originally opened in 2003 as THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, this 41-story tower boasts 1,117 suites and features two restaurants, a spa, beach club,and Skyfall lounge on its top floor.
In addition to this exciting project announcement,the companies also recently launched the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy program which allows rewards members from both brands access to each other’s incentives and perks.
While there are already eleven participating hotels in Las Vegas under the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy program,the current Delano hotel is not one of them.However,this new transformation will make it eligible for membership withinthe programasWLasVegas.
