Topgolf Takes Over New Braunfels' Green Scene

New Braunfels has contributed to the development of an $18 million sports and entertainment facility for Topgolf.

The project will be developed by Houston-based NewQuest and will feature a multistory venue with up to 60 golf hitting bays. It will be located in New Braunfels’ Town Center at Creekside, which is a mixed-use development that already includes other entertainment options.

As part of the deal, NewQuest will receive $3 million in incentives. This includes $1.5 million for infrastructure improvements related to the project and another $1.5 million as an economic development incentive for Topgolf, subject to meeting certain performance conditions each year.

Topgolf has been expanding its presence across multiple states since 2002, including California, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky Massachusetts and Utah.

The new Topgolf location in New Braunfels will be the 13th one in Texas and third within the San Antonio-Austin region. The company also plans on opening another venue later this year in Grand Prairie.
