**Construction Begins on Final Phase of Herndon Square in Atlanta**

Pennrose, in partnership with Atlanta Housing, the City of Atlanta, and Hunt Companies, has officially broken ground on the final phase of Herndon Square, a transformative mixed-income residential development in Atlanta. The project has secured $73 million in financing from multiple sources to fund construction of Phase III.

Herndon Square is a multi-phase redevelopment project that will ultimately include 379 multifamily units across two mid-rise buildings, 97 senior housing units (completed during Phase I), 32 townhomes, and a commercial-use building with a grocery store along Northside Drive.

The newly launched Phase III is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2027. This phase will deliver 178 rental units, including a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Of those, 151 will be designated as affordable housing units supported by Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, targeting families earning between 30% and 80% of the area median income. The remaining 27 units will be market-rate.

This milestone marks continued progress in expanding access to affordable housing in the city, while also contributing to the broader revitalization of the historic Westside community of Atlanta.
