**Tallest Texas Tower Tops Out in Austin**

The Waterline Tower in Austin has officially reached its full height of 1,025 feet, making it the tallest building in Texas. The milestone was announced by project developers Lincoln Property Company and Kairoi Residential earlier this week. The 74-story mixed-use high-rise is slated to open in 2026.

Standing 23 feet taller than the JPMorgan Chase Tower in Houston—which held the title of Texas’ tallest building since 1981—Waterline represents a new architectural landmark for the state.

Situated at 98 Red River Street, the tower is constructed on a 3.3-acre site near the convergence of Waller Creek and Lady Bird Lake. Waterline promises sweeping views from both residential and office levels. Designed by architecture firm Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), the development comprises 352 luxury apartment homes, 700,000 square feet of office space, a 251-room 1 Hotel Austin, and 24,000 square feet of publicly accessible retail and restaurant space overlooking the creek.

Since construction began in 2022, over 4,750 workers have contributed to the project. At the peak of development, around 875 workers were on-site daily.

Waterline is not only redefining the Austin skyline but also marking a significant moment in the evolution of Texas’ urban development.
