Texas Woman's University Constructing $107M Health Sciences Center

Texas Woman’s University (TWU) is breaking ground on a $107 million health sciences center designed to serve as a hub for community and rural health efforts. The project will significantly expand healthcare education, research and service opportunities, with the goal of graduating 30% more nursing and healthcare professionals in support of the state’s plan to produce more health professionals.

The 136,000-square-foot facility will be located adjacent to Parliament Village – TWU’s residential community in Denton – on seven acres of land. It is intended to provide students studying allied health care fields such as nursing, physical therapy and occupational therapy with an emphasis on preparing them for rural settings. The building features modern labs, classrooms, collaborative workspaces along with outdoor clinic sites and teaching kitchen; plus it includes spaces dedicated specifically for hosting community clinics or student training sessions.
