Turner Construction Company has been awarded a $41 million contract to construct an Engineering Classroom and Research Building for Texas A&M University at Galveston. The project was designed by Page.
The three-story building will house seven departments, primarily for engineering students. It will feature administrative offices, conference space, active learning areas to support engineering programs, research laboratory space for faculty-led projects, group study collaboration spaces, and a state-of-the-art technology maker space where students can design and create physical prototypes.
“We are excited to commence work on this project that will enhance the education of engineering students at the university,” stated Turner’s Andy Tandon in an expert manner. “We look forward to collaborating with our design partner Page and the Galveston community as we bring this innovative facility to fruition.”
Expected completion date is fall 2025 for the 54,000-square-foot building which serves approximately 2
