Plastic Omnium, a French electrical vehicle supplier, has leased the sizable building 4 at the Northeast Crossing property just outside Austin in Manor. The company plans to populate its 350,000 square-foot manufacturing facility with 800 workers and specialize in making high-end bumpers. Plastic Omnium was interested in this site due to its availability and timing of the building as well as its location which puts it close to customers. It is a 15 mile drive from Tesla’s gigafactory located east of Travis County. Operations are expected to begin either August or September 2021.

Other automotive suppliers that have set up shop near Tesla include Simwon North America Corp., CelLink Corp., and Plastikon Industries Inc., all based out of Kyle or Georgetown Texas respectively
