Terran Orbital & W. P. Carey Break Ground on Irvine Satellite Facility Construction

Terran Orbital Corporation, a global leader in satellite-based solutions for the aerospace and defense industries, and net lease REIT W. P. Carey broke ground Friday on a 94,000-square-foot satellite manufacturing facility located at 4 Goodyear in Irvine. The partnership will see an outdated office property redeveloped into a Class A industrial facility that will serve as Terran Orbital’s fifth production site. Demolition of the existing building began this past February with completion expected by January 2024.

Marc Bell, Chairman & CEO of Terran Orbital expressed enthusiasm for the project: “We are thrilled to break ground on 4 Goodyear which will propel us to new heights… We look forward to developing this new facility together with W P Carey who have been great partners throughout.” He went on to note that increased capacity from the new location would enable them “to onboard contracts and satellite orders” more efficiently than ever before as they work towards completing 30 programs involving over 375 satellites including initial constellation orders from SDA Rivada and another customer announced May 15th 2021
