"Taylor Gives Green Light to $1B Data Center"

Blueprint Projects has been granted approval by the Taylor City Council to construct a state-of-the-art data center on land owned by the Taylor Economic Development Corp. The proposed location for this $1 billion project is at 1601 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, in close proximity to a planned 212-acre industrial campus.

Construction is set to commence on July 1 of next year and will be completed in three phases, with each phase covering an area of 45,000 square feet. Upon completion of all three phases, the total buildout will span over an impressive 135,000 square feet. It is estimated that this ambitious project will require a capital expenditure of $1 billion over the course of ten years.

As part of their agreement with the city, Blueprint Projects has committed to investing at least $225 million and creating five jobs within their facility. In return for these commitments from Blueprint Projects,the city has agreed to provide them with a tax rebate equivalent to half (50%)of their tangible property taxes for each phase during construction – lasting ten years in total.Additionally,a separate agreement between Blueprint Projects,the city,and TEDC stipulates that there will also bea fifty percent (50%)rebateon local use taxes collected from materials used during construction.
