Growing suburban coworking occupancy relative to downtown towers underscores how flexible, smaller-scale office options are capturing demand from remote and hybrid workers.

TailoredSpace has expanded its suburban coworking platform with the opening of a new location in Solana Beach, adding to the company's growing network across Southern California.

With this latest site in operation, TailoredSpace now runs six coworking locations across San Diego County and a total of 17 active locations throughout the broader Southern California region.

The new Solana Beach location is situated at 990 Highland Dr. and comprises 9,700 square feet. The space is programmed as a flexible office environment, offering executive suites, private offices, coworking desks and virtual office memberships aimed at a range of professional users.

The property benefits from a position near the I-5 Freeway, providing convenient regional connectivity for users commuting by car. The campus overlooks the Del Mar Racetrack and is surrounded by walkable retail and dining options, giving members access to nearby amenities outside the office environment.

Co-founder Drew Sanden said TailoredSpace's strategy is centered on suburban markets, where the company is attracting a mix of business owners and mid-career professionals who already live and work in these communities. According to Sanden, occupancy across the firm's suburban locations has delivered consistent year-over-year growth, outpacing occupancy trends in traditional downtown office high-rises.

Sanden added that the company has specifically targeted suburban markets in response to demand from professionals who, even when working from home, still require a professional and distraction-free workplace to maintain productivity. The Solana Beach opening reflects that focus, reinforcing TailoredSpace's emphasis on flexible office options outside major central business districts.

With this addition to its San Diego County footprint, TailoredSpace continues to build scale in regional suburban markets, positioning its network of coworking locations to serve users seeking alternatives to both home offices and conventional downtown office towers.
