**Sysco Launches Retail Outlets in Houston Tailored for Small Businesses**

Sysco, one of the world’s top restaurant food distributors, has officially begun piloting its first retail locations in Houston. Aimed at supporting small businesses with access to bulk food at wholesale prices, the new “Sysco to Go” stores eliminate the need for a delivery contract, making it easier for organizations to purchase what they need on demand.

According to the Houston Chronicle, the first store opened this week near Memorial City at 10515 Katy Freeway, in a former Bed, Bath & Beyond location. A second Houston store is expected later this summer at 1212 Old Spanish Trail near NRG Stadium, taking over a space previously occupied by a Sprouts grocery store. Together, the two new locations are set to create approximately 100 jobs.

The stores are designed to serve a wide range of food-service businesses and organizations, including restaurants, schools, churches, and nonprofits. To shop at Sysco to Go, customers must sign up for a free membership and provide a tax ID number.

Sysco currently serves over 6,000 customers and has recently expanded its warehouse operations by 185,000 square feet. This development positions the company as one of the largest food distribution networks in the United States.
