**Swiss Logistics Firm Opens 432,000-Square-Foot Trade Facility in Laredo**
Kuehne + Nagel, a Swiss logistics company, has completed the development of a 432,000-square-foot distribution and trade complex in Laredo, Texas. The new facility is intended to help clients navigate the complexities of nearshoring—a growing trend in the shifting global trade landscape.
The project places the company among several other major industrial developers investing in Laredo, which has become a focal point for logistics and trade infrastructure. Danish logistics firm DSV is currently developing a 905,000-square-foot distribution center valued at $90 million. Similarly, Stotan Industrial broke ground on a comparable project in March, with an estimated investment exceeding $100 million.
According to data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Port of Laredo is the busiest trade port in the United States, handling $339 billion in trade with the world in 2024. The port ranks number one among over 450 airports, seaports, and border crossings in the country.
Kuehne + Nagel’s investment further solidifies Laredo’s status as a critical hub for international commerce and supply chain operations.
