"Sustainable Real Estate Investment Firm Launched by Climate Tech Executives"

Three former executives of Green Canopy NODE, a climate-friendly technology company, have launched Cambia Capital, a real estate investment firm focused on investing in resilient and sustainable real estate projects. Aaron Fairchild, Andy Wolverton, and Susan Fairchild bring their expertise from Green Canopy where they helped build a sustainable real estate development and construction technology company. They also raised over $100 million in corporate and project-related debt and equity while developing four successful real estate investment funds.

Cambia Capital’s initial focus is the Douglas Fir Fund with an initial investment of $20 million. The group will invest in sustainable projects that go beyond code requirements such as mass timber construction, net-zero energy buildings, and third-party certified green-built projects.

The launch of Cambia Capital coincides with Seattle’s new building emissions law as well as Washington state’s regulations mandating performance standards for new residential and commercial construction. This move highlights the growing importance of sustainability in the real estate industry.
