Surfing in Phoenix Metro: 4th Surf Park Making Big Waves

With Phoenix summers often reaching triple digits, the metro area is welcoming more and more surf parks. The Gilbert Town Council recently approved permits for Cactus Surf Park to move forward with plans for a 25-acre attraction at Gilbert Regional Park. Features of this park will include a water park, surf lagoon, sand beach, kid’s play area, outdoor cabanas available for rent as well as an on-site restaurant and banquet rooms.

This marks the fourth proposed surf park in the Phoenix metro region. Cannon Beach is expected to be completed in two years time in nearby Mesa about seven miles away from Cactus Surf Park. PHX Surfpark located Maricopa has scaled back its offering but still includes a large lagoon with wave making machines while VAI Resort situated Glendale boasts 60 acres of land with lagoons and various entertainment options worth $1 billion dollars .

Phoenix residents can now look forward to four exciting new surfing spots that are sure to make waves!
