A new French patisserie and café, Emmy French Corner, is set to open at 1250 U Street NW in Washington, D.C., in a space formerly occupied by Starbucks.
The owners of Emmy French Corner have signed a 10-year lease for the 1,250-square-foot location with EastBanc. The café will feature artisanal pastries, desserts, and baked goods, including croissants, macarons, éclairs, and custom cakes, all crafted to blend traditional French flavors with modern culinary elegance.
EastBanc is in the process of transforming the property at 1250 U Street into a mixed-use development. Plans for the site include residential units, neighborhood-serving retail, and potentially a small boutique hotel. The redevelopment is intended to enhance the U Street corridor with added retail offerings, public art, both affordable and market-rate housing, and streetscape improvements.
