Sunflower Development Plans for 300-Unit Multifamily Complex in Kansas

Sunflower Development Group, based in Kansas City, has announced plans for a new residential project in Lenexa, Kansas. The company recently gained approval from the city planning commission and is now seeking rezoning of the property to intermediate and high-density residential districts for their proposed development called The Residences on Woodsonia. According to reports from the Kansas City Business Journal , Sunflower has filed plans with the Lenexa City Council for this project.

The planned development will span approximately 16 acres and include 240 apartments across ten three-story buildings. Amenities such as a pool, clubhouse, sports courts, and community space are also included in the design. In addition to these apartments, Sunflower intends to build 62 townhomes within eleven four- or six-plex buildings.

To bring this vision to life, Sunflower is collaborating with architect Rosemann & Associates and Overland Park-based MKEC Engineering Inc. A preliminary site plan review by the council is scheduled for later this month before any construction can begin on The Residences at Woodsonia – first on the apartment complex starting late next year followed by work beginning on townhomes in early 2025.

This announcement marks an exciting step forward for Sunflower Development Group as they continue their mission of creating quality living spaces throughout Kansas without compromising sustainability or community values.
