Suffolk, in partnership with the Wounded Warrior Project and Home Base, is spearheading the expansion of the Home Base National Center of Excellence. This initiative is focused on providing specialized care for special operators and veterans who have suffered Traumatic Brain and Polytrauma Injuries during combat or training.
The expanded facility will significantly increase Home Base’s clinical capabilities by offering evaluations and treatments for traumatic brain injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, and mental health conditions among veterans from the special operations community. It will also provide space for cutting-edge research projects such as investigating psychedelic treatments’ effectiveness.
Suffolk has generously contributed $1.5 million worth of services and materials to this project. The Wounded Warrior Project has pledged over $90 million in support through their Warrior Care Network program, including an additional $5.5 million specifically designated for the expansion of Home Base. As part of this support, they have established a dedicated clinic called “Wounded Warrior Project Brain Health & Special Operations Performance Clinic.”
