ElectraMeccanica, an electric vehicle maker, has faced challenges in recent times. As a result, the company has decided to sublease a 200,000 square feet industrial space in Mesa that it had recently leased. This space was being used as both a corporate office and for storage of their original Solo electric vehicle model which has now been discontinued.
The newly constructed industrial space is conveniently located near Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. According to reports from the Phoenix Business Journal, ElectraMeccanica is currently undergoing a strategic review process. The company is not yet certain if its corporate office will remain at the Mesa plant once they find a partner who can utilize the entire space effectively. Ideally, ElectraMeccanica would prefer to secure a new strategic partner for contract assembly services at this facility.
