**Tailwind Group Acquires Student Housing Property Near Sam Houston State**

Tailwind Group has completed the acquisition of its third student housing property of the year, adding The Connection at Huntsville to its portfolio. Located near Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, the 288-unit community offers a total of 792 beds.

This acquisition marks a strategic expansion beyond Tailwind’s typical investment markets. Brandon Smith of Tailwind Group noted, “While Sam Houston State is not the typical Power 4 market that we acquire assets in, we believe strongly in the fundamentals and upside this specific opportunity presented.”

As part of its value-add strategy, Tailwind plans to launch a comprehensive capital improvement program and rebrand the property as Quarters Huntsville.

Originally completed in 2008, the community spans nearly 27 acres and features 13 three-story buildings. The unit mix consists of one- to four-bedroom floorplans, ranging from 674 to 1,572 square feet. All units come fully furnished and include private balconies or patios.

The property offers a range of common-area amenities, including a fitness center, clubhouse, business center, and spa. Additional features include a dog park, two volleyball courts, and outdoor picnic areas.

The transaction was brokered by Brandon Buell and his team at Berkadia.
