Sterling Bay’s new fitness space, The Factory, is a luxurious wellness destination completed in partnership with Chicago-based lulafit. Built in 1908, the eight-story building at 600 W. Chicago was formerly the Montgomery Ward catalog building and underwent a complete overhaul of its existing fitness center by lulafit in 2021.
Chris Schmidt, senior director of design and development for lulafit said “we jumped at the opportunity to work on this project with Sterling Bay” adding that they took an outdated dark overcrowded gym and turned it into “a bright restorative wellness destination that attracts users back time and time again.”
Jessica Brown from Sterling Bay’s Managing Director commented positively about The Factory saying “the feedback we’re getting from tenants about The Factory is very positive” adding that their team has become “a trusted partner” throughout design construction as well as onsite operations.
