State Funding Grants U. of La Verne New Learning Facility

The University of La Verne in Ontario is set to receive $8.5 million in state funding for the construction of a 60,000-square-foot learning facility and home for the College of Health and Community Well-Being. Last week, State Sen. Susan Rubio’s 2023-24 budget was approved by Gov. Gavin Newsom which included priority requests from ULV such as this one.

University president Devorah Lieberman expressed her gratitude towards Senator Rubio’s support and advocacy: “College programs serve as a catalyst to retain local talent, expand healthcare opportunities, and create workforce opportunities within the region.”
Construction off D Street between North Sultana Avenue and North Plum Avenue is expected to start early 2024 with plans that include an atrium lobby; skills & simulation labs replicating real hospital settings; high tech classrooms; advanced research facilities; plus shared areas encouraging collaboration & scientific inquiry among students & faculty alike!
