**JW Marriott Resort McKinney Craig Ranch Project Delayed Amid Financing Challenges**

Developers of the highly anticipated JW Marriott Resort McKinney Craig Ranch have announced a delay in the start of the project due to financing issues. Originally slated to begin construction this year, the timeline has now been extended by 120 days. According to a report from Community Impact, construction must now commence by April 30, 2027, with completion scheduled no later than August 31, 2029.

The resort is being developed through a joint partnership between Ashford Inc., Craig International, and Horizon Capital Partners.

Planned for an 8-acre site at the northeast corner of Collin McKinney Parkway and Van Tuyl Parkway, the development will feature an 18-story luxury hotel and an array of upscale amenities. Key features of the resort include:

– 290 guest rooms
– Over 50,000 square feet of hotel conference space
– State-of-the-art fitness center
– A three-meal restaurant and a specialty dining venue
– Lounge with poolside seating and food service
– Pickleball courts

In addition to the hotel, the project will include 45 for-sale condominiums constructed above the hotel. These units will feature a dedicated amenity deck exclusive to residents.

While the delay may shift the timeline, the developers remain committed to delivering a world-class hospitality and residential experience in one of McKinney’s most desirable locations.
