The expansive Honey Creek development, situated in the northern region of McKinney, will cover an impressive 1,650 acres. This ambitious project is being spearheaded by Republic Property Group, a Dallas-based company with ongoing projects in Celina, Fort Worth and Frisco as well as another one in McKinney.
A zoning request has been submitted to designate over 2.5 square miles of land for a proposed district located west of US 75 and north of US 380 near Erwin Park. If approved, this development could potentially accommodate up to 10,500 homes comprising various housing options such as single-family and multifamily units. Additionally, at least 80 acres have been allocated for commercial use.
In accordance with state legislation requirements for large-scale developments like this one,a district must be established to enforce specific development standards within its boundaries.
Construction on the first neighborhood within the designated district is expected to commence towards late-2025 or early-2026 with lots being made available approximately18-24 months after that time period.
