South Texas Medical Group to Close and Shut Down 27 Locations

Peripheral Vascular Associates (PVA), the largest single specialty vascular group in Texas, has announced plans to reduce its workforce and close multiple offices. Founded in 1975, PVA currently operates 27 locations throughout southern Texas.

The San Antonio-based practice confirmed with the San Antonio Business Journal that it will be winding down its business operations and ceasing operation of all locations before the end of this year. This decision comes after a negative ruling earlier this year in a Medicare case where a federal court found PVA guilty of submitting false claims for services not yet performed.

It is unclear if this legal proceeding played a role in the closure of PVA’s business. The medical group has informed the Texas Workforce Commission about their plans to reduce their workforce, but no mention was made regarding Connect CRE or any other specific organizations.
