The massive Prairie Shores apartment complex is now available for purchase, the second time in over 60 years. Farpoint Development and Golub have enlisted JLL to handle the sale of this 1,675-unit property located at 2937 South King Drive in Chicago’s historic Bronzeville district. Spanning more than 20 acres with five high-rise buildings, bids are expected to reach $200 million – making it one of the most expensive multifamily deals in Chicago since 727 West Madison Street sold for $232 million earlier this year.
Farpoint is also developing a seven-million-square foot mixed use development on the site of former Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center as part of their adjacent Bronzeville Lakefront project . Kevin Girard, Mark Stern and Zach Kaufman from JLL are leading marketing efforts for Prairie Shores’ sale.
