South Korean Electric Vehicle Supplier to Open $176 Million Plant in Georgia

A new South Korean supplier for Hyundai is establishing a facility in Georgia. Hwashin will invest over $176 million and employ more than 460 workers at their plant, located in Dublin, GA. Production is expected to begin in 2025.

The company will manufacture metal components for auto chassis at this location, supplying both the upcoming Hyundai Motor Group plant in Ellabell and sister company Kia’s facility in West Point.

This announcement follows other companies’ plans to open plants that will support Hyundai’s $7.6 billion electric vehicle and battery assembly plant near Savannah. The Ellabell site could eventually employ up to 8,500 workers and start producing vehicles as soon as 2024.

Overall, suppliers for the new Hyundai plant have committed to investing over $2.4 billion and hiring nearly 6,300 employees.
