### T1 Energy Inc. to Build $850M Solar Cell Manufacturing Facility in Texas

T1 Energy Inc., formerly known as Freyr Battery Inc., has announced plans to establish an $850 million solar cell manufacturing facility in Milam County, near Round Rock, Texas. The new plant, named G2 Austin, is expected to generate up to 1,800 jobs.

The company has secured a lease-and-purchase option for 100 acres within the **Advanced Manufacturing Logistix Campus (AMLC)**, a 3,300-acre site that was once home to an Alcoa aluminum smelter plant.

G2 Austin is slated to begin production in the second half of 2026. T1 Energy has positioned this facility as one of the largest solar manufacturing plants in the United States.

The AMLC site is being developed by Xebec, which acquired the 33,000-acre property in 2021. The land extends across Milam and Lee counties and is located approximately 15 miles east of Taylor, where Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. is building a multibillion-dollar semiconductor manufacturing plant. Additionally, a natural gas power plant is under construction on-site.

JLL’s Ace Schlameus is leading the leasing efforts for AMLC on behalf of Xebec.
