Skyline Ranch Owner Plans Southside Mixed-Use Development
Robert Pitre, longtime owner of a 65-acre property located at 1801 E. Wheatland Road—just east of University Hills Boulevard and I-30—has secured rezoning approval from the Dallas City Council to pursue a new development vision for the site. Known as Skyline Ranch, the property currently operates as an events center.
With new zoning in place for the southside parcel, Pitre plans to transform the property into a mixed-use community featuring approximately 300 residential units, condominiums, and retail space. While plans are still being finalized, his next steps include identifying a development partner and securing financing for the project.
The site is strategically located near the 270-acre University Hills development, where construction began in May on what is projected to be a billion-dollar endeavor featuring thousands of residential units and approximately 1.5 million square feet of commercial space.
Additionally, the future Skyline Ranch redevelopment will benefit from proximity to the University of North Texas at Dallas campus, further enhancing its appeal as a growing hub of connectivity and opportunity in South Dallas.
